Neko's Journal

6 weeks already, and I haven't done half as much as I wanted, but my health is still a unrealiable at the moment and I was away for the weekend. Anyway, I worked through two thick books and started a third this week, so it's better than nothing. From now on, I don't have anything to sidetrack me, so I hope I'll accomplish all the work still waiting for me in the next eight weeks.

I forgot to post yesterday, so here's the update on my progress.

- Got one pre-ordered book form the library to work through on my little trip in Friday and Saturday
- Finished editing the stuff my second examiner made notes of. That is, a lot of them is the question for more literature, so I made notes of that in the text where to put in more research material later.

Not much news. I ordered two books, and I did some more editing. Since I'm still not feeling well, it's better than nothing.

It's not yet Tuesday, but since I won't be doing anything usual tomorrow, I can as well post. Neck pain is better, but now a nasty cold with a sore throat has grabbed me >.< I couldn't get done anything last week since I had been busy with other work (doing junior university classes i.e.), so I hope that nasty cold will be gone soon so I can get back on track.
Gah.

it's Tuesday again, and I can account for some work:

- I started to edit my dissertation based on the comments of my second examiner. He had some concrete tips for improving.The rearranging of the whoel thing comes later.
- I also made a list of stuff I have to read. No titles yet, but the themes narrowed down.

Since I have been away and also somewhat disabled due to the sore neck, I think it's okay.

Okay, this officially marks post 1 of my editing time. Everything's cleared with my examiners, and my next deadline is July.

Today, I didn't get anything done, however, due to a nasty pain in my neck that is making typing at the computer uncomfortable. Hopefully, it will be better soon. Meanwhile, I'll go read some books.
Since Tuesday has been my traditional updating day since forever, I'll do public entries every Tuesday from now on. That means counting the weeks, not the days - which doesn't give me such a bad conscience when I'm not getting done anything on certain days.

I finally got news from my second examiner. I'll meet him next Monday, and hopefully I'll be able to start editing on Tuesday after another talk with my first examiner. I'll restart counting then!

I got news today regarding my dissertation: I have to re-structure the whole thing. Instead of documenting my work process, I shall give the research results first and then flesh them out with the examples. So, today is the first day of my person National Dissertation Editing Month. I'm just happy that the main problem don't seem to be my results. Since it's gonna be boring, I won't bother you guys with a post every day and put them on private. I'll only give public results once a week or so, depending on how much I'll get done. Since I'll be away for Easter and the week after, I don't expect much right now.

Yesterday, I gave my dissertation to my professors. Now I have to wait.

But... yay!

Now I'm off to clean my apartment.
